Beginning 2

This class provides a transition from the introductory level. It will focus on more in-depth conversational, expressive and receptive skills. An emphasis on fingerspelling practice as well as discussions of Deaf culture and history will be explored.

Beginning

This class is designed for people with no knowledge of French, but it can also be a very good refresher for long-ago high school classes. You will learn greetings, how to introduce yourself, some basic social conversation, and useful words and expressions. You will obtain a basic language foundation and master the main verbs that are used in everyday language. Beginning 2

Continue to build on our French grammar skills by conjugating verbs. We will also develop our reading skills by reading short compositions and developing our writing tools by crafting small presentations on common everyday themes. Beyond Beginning

We will continue to improve our conversation, grammar and comprehension skills. In addition, we will be reading and listening to contemporary conversations in current, everyday French that will help us learn and practice simple dialogue which we can use in everyday situations.

Beginning Conversation 2

This class is continuing what we learned in the first beginner class. We’ll start in unit 3 in the textbook. You’ll learn more about how to talk about your family, leisure activities, job, and professions, and likes and dislikes. Grammatically, we’ll go over verb endings, gender and articles, possessive adjectives, and the accusative case.
