Presentation and Orientation Steps
Step #1: Review Presentation:

If you decide that you want to pursue the traditional high school diploma pathway, and you attended high school in the United States, please have your "official" high school transcripts emailed directly from your high school, or from
parchment.com to [email protected] prior to your orientation date so that we can review and evaluate your transcripts before you attend the orientation. Transcripts are official when they are sent directly from the high school or from parchment. 


 Step #2: Enrollment and Orientation:

After you've selected an orientation date, and completed the enrollment information, please remember that your session will reside in a shopping cart so don't forget to check out before closing. If you've completed the process correctly, you will receive a notice that shows that you are enrolled in your chosen orientation.

Background & Journey

Q: What brought you to our adult school, and what were your goals when you first started?
A: I came to Poway Adult School looking for ESL classes, and my goal was to improve my English so I could communicate more confidently and create better opportunities for myself.


CNA Program

Q: What inspired you to enroll in the Certified Nursing Assistant program?
A: I have always wanted to support people during their most vulnerable moments, especially those receiving hospice care. That passion inspired me to pursue the CNA program.


High School Diploma Progress

Q: How do you stay motivated while balancing school, work, and other responsibilities?
A: Staying motivated is not always easy, but I remind myself of my personal reason why. I want to create a better future for myself and my family.

Q: What does graduating mean to you personally?
A: Graduation represents pride, effort, resilience, and hard work. I am the first immigrant in my family to attend college, and that means everything to me.


Future Goals: RN Pathway

Q: What inspired you to become a registered nurse?
A: I have a deep desire to help save lives, offer compassion to people who are sick, and make a positive difference in the world.

Q: What kind of nurse do you hope to be, and why?
A: I hope to be a nurse who listens to patients with empathy, sensitivity, professionalism, and intelligence, because our society needs more compassionate and caring people.


Reflection & Advice

Q: What advice would you give to other students who are just starting ESL or returning to school?
A: It is never too late to start. Do not let your age or language barriers stop you from taking the first step on your educational journey.

Q: How has this school helped change your life?
A: Every course I have taken at this school has helped me overcome barriers in my life and opened new educational and career opportunities for me.
